November! November!

Hi all, once again I must apologise for the lack of interaction on my blog.  When you have a family as hectic as I do, and still trying to get the right balance for my 10 year old son who has ADHD, Autism and now they think he has ODD too, life never gets any easier.  But anyway that's enough about my hectic homelife these last few weeks.

Onto my passion - Crafting, if I didn't have this as a way to forget about everything else think I would be in a mental institution by now rocking myself back and forwards.....

Well the challenge this fortnight at Creative Moments is CAS and our sponsor is Floppy Lattes and the winner of the challenge will receive a shop voucher, so Good Luck to all who enter and I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations.

My card was created using one of Floppy Lattes digital images

Flower was coloured using promarkers
Soft Green
Pastel Green
Pastel Pink
Cinnamon
and then I used to Hunkydory's Diamond Sparkles 'Fairie Kisses' to add a bit of sparkle to the flowers and the leaves

I then added a contrasting green coloured ribbon and a Thinking of You sentiment.

Love the clean and simple feel to this card, just the perfect way to send someone the thought that you are thinking of them for whatever the reason maybe.

Am entering this card into the following challenges:

Project Lace

Well what a hectic couple of weeks its been at Clairez Cardz.  What with having craft fairs and customer orders, have also had family issues to deal with too, so been busy in all aspects of my life.

And I know it is only halfway through October but as a card maker we need to start thinking of christmas cards and gifts early, so have been working on my christmas card stock for future craft fairs as well as making handmade advent calendars which have proven to be quite popular as they are really a keepsake and can be used year on year.  Pictures can be found at my facebook page www.facebook.com/ClairezCardz .

Well it also that time again for showing you my design team challenge project.  This fortnights theme over at Creative Moments is to use some lace and my image is from Sassy Studio Designs. So make sure you pop over and enter your project

For this card i used a cream cardstock and the lace design was cut out using my Cameo machine, I then used a stripey backing paper from my craft cupboard, the Rainbow Brite image was coloured using promarkers - Magenta and Amethyst with Blush being used for the skin and Tan for the hair, i then embellished with some handmade bows and added a Happy Birthday sentiment.

When looking to see what colours Rainbow Brite should have been i found an image and used that to colour her
and although she looks cool, I decided on some different colours to brighten her up a wee bit as used in the card above - again this image was coloured using promarkers - colours used where Magenta, Amethyst, Royal Blue, Gold, Tulip Yellow, Grass and Blush

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

October already!!!!

Well firstly i need to apologise for my lack of blogging since the last post.  Family bereavement along with a hard to handle 10 year old (who has ADHD and Autism) has kind of taken of September so unfortunately my crafting had to take a back seat.  But all is improving and am back to crafting and have to say have really missed it.

Can't believe that we are in October already, this year is going far to fast for my liking.

Well have been working on my DT projects the last few days.

The theme over at Creative Moments this fortnight is Owls/Anything Goes.

I decided to choose an Owl digital stamp from Delicious Doodles and went for a very simple card, but am very pleased with the result

Looking forward to seeing everyone's creations over on the challenge at Creative Moments

DT Projects

Evening everyone.  I have been busy working on my first couple of projects for my new DT positions.

Firstly over at Creative Moments the theme was birthdays and I chose to work with a penguin digi stamp from Stamp n Doodle.  My first thoughts were snow and water.  So I decided on an A5 size landscape card which i backed with a greeny blue backing paper, the penguin digi was mounted onto a piece of blue mirror board, the background of the digi stamp was coloured using the Powder Blue Promarker and i used some Embellishment Attic snow to create a snowy effect under the penguins feet.

Have entered this card into the following blog challenges
613 avenue - anything goes
Challenges 4 everyone - anything goes
Glitter n Sparkle - anything goes

My second DT project was for Craft Mojo and there theme is Autumn.  So for this I used an 8x8 scalloped edge card edge with a purple and gold promarker.  Added a stripey backing paper and a brown flecky backing paper.  Two die cut butterflies dipped into fine glitter.  And then used digi stamps from Glamoureyes - Forsynthia Fairy and Peter Pixie and used purples and gold and brown and a small amount of glitter on their wings

Happy Happy

Well I wasn't around much last week as I took time out with the family and we went and enjoyed a week at Seton Sands Holiday Park - it was brill.

Anyway back to all things business related, while i was on holiday I was contacted by a couple of lovely ladies asking me if I would like to join their Design Teams, and of course I said yes.

So I am now on the Design Team for:

Creative Moments

and

Crafty Mojo

So please pop over and check out the challenges that are happening.  And I am looking forward to the challenges ahead for myself and also seeing the wonderful creations that you all create.

Digital stamps

Think I have just found a new addition to my craftiness.
Digital stamps!
Not really used them before as wasn't sure that my colouring skills would do them justice.
But over the last couple of days I have enjoyed getting the Promarkers out and working out which colours go well together.
Below are images of stamps I have coloured.  The images are from a very talented lady over at Glamoureyes

My entry for a DT call

Have entered a competition today for the chance to become a member of the design team of Glamoureyes on Facebook.

They have a digi stamp to work with and this is what I have entered.

8x8 scalloped edge square card,  edged with a purple promarker and also a purple sparkly sakura gel pen, with ribbon and rhinestones down the lefthand side. With a weaved patterned backing paper.  The digi stamp has been coloured using Promarkers and a pink ribbon attached to the dress and a rhinestone on the teddies bow. I have then added 3 cherry blossom flowers also coloured with Promarkers and then added a sentiment.

I am really pleased with how this has turned out.

The competition closes on the 7th August
